I'm currently playing Brutal Legend. I love it, and I hate it. I love it because it's hilarious. The beginning game menu design is the best thing ever. See. I hate it because playing it is often a total chore. I mean, it wasn't that bad at first - just kind of dull when it started out at the beginning as a straight up 'cut everything up' game. Then it did this rts stuff which just filled me with irritation and apathy - too hard to tell what the hell was going on. But I want to find out what happens next, so I just keep going even though I'm having very little fun during the interactive portion. If someone would just splice all the non-game parts of this into a video, my problems would be solved. Why did this have to be a game? I love Tim Schafer's writing, but has no one yet told him he seems unable to make a game fun to play? I almost wish this was a point and click adventure game. Just because the controller has that many buttons does not mean you have to make me use them all simultaneously dude. I have to admit though, riding around in my hotrod while listening to the soundtrack and freeing bondage dragons is insanely fun. Rob Halford sounds like he's having a great time.
